2014 Mitsubishi Mirage

For those people who were used to a three cylinder metro, here is a car with similar but improved features from Mitsubishi.

When compared with other non-hybrid models on the market, the 2014 Mitsubishi Mirage has highest fuel economy rating. It has a five door hatchback mini-car.

When fitted with a continuously variable transmission option, it is rated with mpg of 40 combined that is 37 city and 44 highway.

Standard equipment, which is a five speed manual gearbox, is cheaper but it knocks down the ratings to 37 mpg combined.

The mirage body structure has been kept light by the Mitsubishi Company for quite some time. 2014 Mitsubishi Mirage ES weighs 1973 pounds making it the lightest among the five door cars sold in the US market and also ranks the second after the two seats smart for two overall.

The new model of Mitsubishi mirage actually is bigger considering size and more practical than the Fiat 500, Scion iQ and Smart For Two. When compared with Honda Fit, Chevrolet Sonic, Hyundai Accent, Nissan Versa and Toyota Yaris, it sits below.  Because of its tallness, it can take up to four adults, but mostly it is used by one or two people.

It has a style which is quite remarkably bland, although its front end is rounded similar to that of Mitsubishi Outlander which is said to aerodynamic. According to Mitsubishi, this model achieves a low drag coefficient of 0.28.

The remaining part of the other body is mainly generic small five-door hatch back, though when viewed from the rear end; it shows similarity with the last generation of the Nissan ‘versa’ hatchback.

The model has a larger numb spot that is just at the middle of steering which sometimes drifts off the lane without showing feedback via the wheel. This means that there is need for continual small corrections so as to keep the car straightly pointed ahead.
